IdlePage keeps you connected.

FAQ's

IdlePage is currently operating in Beta; we have recently launched the service and are in the process of gathering feedback so as to improve the service and iron out any bugs. As such not all of the expected functionality is currently available but rest assured that this will be available shortly. If you would like to help us by letting us know what you think of the service or what you would add to the IdlePage itself please contact us here

How does IdlePage work?

Your computer senses whether it is active or not and when not, it tells a screen saver to launch; eventually going into hibernation if its idle for an extended period. With the idle page software installed, instead of launching a screen saver, your computer opens a new browser window and goes straight to your IdlePage.

When you need to use your device again, you can simply close the IdlePage, minimise it, in which case it keeps running and you can return to it at any time, or use the open browser to surf the web or navigate to some of your favorite pages. When your computer goes idle again your idle page is either maximised or opened again in a new browser window.

Will my computer still hibernate if I leave it running?

Yes it will. Idle page replaces a screen saver, so after an extended period of inaction, your device will still hibernate / power save as it did with a screen saver running.

Can I have Idle Page and my screen saver running together?

No, once you install IdlePage the software will inform your screen saver not to load when your computer becomes Idle.

Is IdlePage customisable?

Not at this time.  We are working to create a customisable version of IdlePage which will launch as soon as we have built the system to be as robust and stable as the IdlePage available now.  As such, you do not need to creat an account with us at this time in order to run IdlePage.  We will contact you via the information you have provided as soon as the customisable version becomes available.

Is IdlePage my homepage?

No. When you open your web browser it will go to your current home page. IdlePage will only launch when the computer is not in use and the software detects that the system is Idle. You can set idlepage.com to be your homepage if you would like, simply set it as you would any other homepage using the Option tab within the web browser settings.

Why do I need to download software to make this work?

Currently your computer launches a screen saver when it is idle. We have created the technology to launch a web browser instead so your computer can not do that without a small piece of software installed.

The software will not use vast amounts of system resources and will not interfere with any other programs.  The software runs as a process and is in no way similar to ad-ware, spy-ware or any other type of malware.  You can fully remove IdlePage from your computer at any time; likewise you can also reinstall the software at any time in the future.

I’m a business, can IdlePage be set up solely for my organisation?

Yes it can; please contact us here for more information.
